About the Role:

The Software Developer 3 role in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team involves designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and core infrastructure services in a multi-tenant cloud environment. This position requires deep technical expertise in systems and strong coding abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead software design and development for critical components of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Develop, design, debug, and define software applications and/or operating system components.
• Apply best practices, standards, and procedures in software development.
• Collaborate with team members to mentor and guide on technical matters.
• Engage in performance tuning and problem resolution for large-scale distributed systems.
• Work across the stack, from low-level system software to distributed system interactions.

Key Technical Skills:

Java, Python, Perl, Data Structures, Algorithms, Operating Systems, Distributed Systems, Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), NoSQL, Databases, Storage Systems, Distributed Persistence, Performance Tuning

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience with large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on programming skills in Java and scripting languages like Python or Perl.
• Deep understanding of operating systems, data structures, algorithms, and networking protocols.
• Familiarity with NoSQL systems, relational databases, and distributed storage technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience in performance optimization.
• Experience in the storage domain (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
